Taking the ACT can be stressful, and even after completing the exam, the pressure continues as you wait for your scores to be released. If you’re anxious and wondering, “when do ACT scores come out?” don’t worry. The wait is usually not too long, though the exact timing depends on the test date. Check out WeAdmit's ACT test score calendar to know when you can expect your scores.
PREPARING FOR THE ACT
The ACT is offered on various dates throughout the year, providing flexibility for students. Those aiming to start college in the fall typically take the ACT in February or April of their junior year, with options to retake it in June or July. Additional testing dates are available in September, October, and December.
We recommend that you start studying as early ahead of time as possible. Work on developing a steady study plan with plenty of time for practice tests. Although the significance of standardized tests like the ACT has slightly diminished in college admissions due to many colleges going test-optional, they still play a crucial role in your application.
WHEN DO ACT SCORES COME OUT?
ACT scores are released within a window of time on a rolling basis as they are processed. Hence, it’s not possible to specify a single date for the release of ACT scores. Typically, multiple-choice scores are available about two weeks after the test date, but it can take up to eight weeks. If you took both the multiple-choice and the writing test, the complete score will be available once both parts are processed, usually adding an extra two weeks. February and October test scores may take longer due to additional statistical analyses performed by ACT.
Here are the upcoming 2024 ACT test dates along with the estimated score release dates (September, October, and December are yet to be announced):
